Our latest Hurdle update makes delivering and managing training easier than ever, with automatic time zone conversion, self-service course booking sites and improved in-session controls. Everything is designed to give trainers and learners a smoother experience.
This article has been created to help you quickly get up to speed with the changes. Additionally, it is important to the hurdle team that we give you an insight in to why these changes have been made, so we have included this where possible.

Multiple time zones
We are pleased to announce support for teams delivering sessions where attendees are in different time zones. When a trainer creates a session, their time zone is recorded using their local browser settings and it is stored as below (Note time zone field is a drop down box and can be changed):
When other trainers or learners who are in a different time zones view a session, the time of the session is converted to their local time automatically. This conversion happens in the following places:
- Session Join Page
- Calendar Invite File
- Session List (When a trainer is logged in)
- Course Sites
Course Sites
Course sites are self-service mini sites where learners can search a list of available sessions and book which they wish to attend. Course sites have a variety of ways to publish available sessions, are customisable and abide by your branding settings.
Below is an example of a course site where you can can see two sessions that are available for learners to register for:
When a learner clicks on the Register button, they are asked to complete their details, and once submitted hurdle will do the following:
- Send joining instructions to the learner.
- Add the learner to the session attendance list.
We have added courses sites to provide a way for teams to manage session registrations whilst reducing administration pressures.

Additional Controls in Back of the room
Further learner controls have been added to the over the shoulder view:
- Reload learner
- Chat
- Mute learner
- Emoji (When learner selects)
- Remove learner
The addition of these controls allows a trainer to take further actions when working with a learner one to one in the over shoulder view. This change negates the need for the trainer to return to the back of the room view to use these controls.
Copy Session Sessions
Within the training session detail screen trainers are now able to copy the current session or create a new blank session without having to return to the session list. This small change has been included to carry forward or commitment to make changes to reduce admin overhead. The two options are highlighted in the below screen shot:
Other additions
- Admin features removed from the application – we have now completed the journey to remove trainer admin features from the hurdle application. The new home for course administration is https://manage.hurdle.live
- Improved device handling – this represents an important improvement to the learner and trainer experience reducing common issues with devices. We have worked on multiple cases where devices (Microphone, Speaker and Webcam) can be dropped or not selected correctly.
- Right click menu added to application – this enables us to bring copy, paste and spell check options to the learner and trainer using the application during sessions.
- Lab Pre-Warm (Azure integration) – when pre-warmed, labs are provisioned automatically when a session is started instead of when learners arrive to a session. To learn how to use Lab Pre-Warm please visit this help desk article >>> Lab Pre-Warm
