We have been engaging with hurdle users and working hard to bring new and useful features to the platform. This release of hurdle builds on the groundwork laid in prior versions and consolidates our commitment to improving the administration of hurdle for trainers. This article has been created to help you quickly get up to speed with the changes. Additionally, it is important to the hurdle team that we give you an insight in to why these changes have been made, so we have included this where possible.

Migrating session admin features to the browser – continuing the journey:
In our last hurdle release blog post What’s New in 1.22 (October 2024 Release) | hurdle we described the journey we have embarked upon to move session admin to the browser and keep the application for when sessions are being run. The next step has been taken, and the following items have been removed from the hurdle application:
- Add session (Trainer)
- Edit Session (Trainer)
- Delete session (Trainer)
- Invites (Trainer)
All the above features are available to use in our browser admin experience located here https://manage.hurdle.live
The following items will remain in this version release but will be removed in our next version release:
- Login (Trainer)
- View Session List (Trainer)
- Start Session (Trainer)
This action will support our expansion of the admin area located at https://manage.hurdle.live . Some examples of new features already brought in are:
- Login with Microsoft or Google credentials – See next section of this post.
- Session trainer assignment – When creating a hurdle session via the browser each session can be assigned to a trainer.
- Session list filter by trainer – trainers can filter the session list to see just their sessions or be able to see the teams sessions as a whole. See below:
Over time there will be more additions made to the admin area which are only possible because of this move away from the application for admin. Watch this space!

Login with Microsoft or Google credentials
As a result of the work we have carried out, moving admin functionality from the application into the browser admin area, we have been able to provide trainers with the ability to connect their Microsoft or Google account for the purpose of login. This move provides more choice and convenience for trainers when signing in to their hurdle account. See below on the new login page:
Note – If a trainer wants to login using their Microsoft or Google account, they must first connect via our Social Accounts feature. Learn more here – Connect your Microsoft or Google account – Jira Service Management
Improved accessibility
As part of our work towards complying with WCAG 2.2 you will notice that the hurdle application and browser looks slightly different. We have reduced the number of large, coloured areas and changed buttons, so they are easier to read. Please see below some examples of this:
Further less visible changes have been put in place to support WCAG 2.2 in addition to the above.
Branding
Team leads and co leads can now change the branding of the hurdle platform by uploading a logo and changing the team colour within the “team details” section located here – https://manage.hurdle.live/teams . See below for details of what this will change:
If a logo is uploaded or if the team colour is changed, it will replace the hurdle logo or colour in areas which are learner facing. See below:
- Session join page.
- Any emails that are generated or sent by hurdle.
- Within a training session (Hurdle application or browser access)
Please see below some further notes around how this works:
- The hurdle logo or team colour will not be replace the hurdle standard branding in the management panel located here https://manage.hurdle.live
- When the team colour is changed, hurdle will automatically change accent colours according to an automated algorithm that remains compliant with WCAG 2.2

Other additions
- Attach content panels to a running session – It is now possible for trainers to attached content panels whilst a session is running. Within a session, click Tools > Content Panels to open the content panel admin screen. For more information about how to use content panels please visit Using content panels in a session
- Content panels default to open when displayed – When a trainer displays a content panel to learners, the panel is open rather than being closed. This draws attention to the content more.
- Show Trainer Controls – Prior to this version, all trainer controls were only visible to the trainer and not learners. Additionally, trainer controls would not be visible to screen recorders or when making a screen shot. We have add the ability for a trainer to make their controls visible via a new option in the tools menu called “Show Trainer Controls”. After making controls visible the trainer can hide them too. (Items this feature controls are trainer tool bar, trainer head up display, trainer poll results and other controls)
- Zapier Integration (BETA) – We recognise the need to give flexibility to our customers when integrating with other systems. In addition to the integrations listed here End User Help Desk – Integrations – Jira Service Management we have built a https://zapier.com/ integration which opens the possibility to integrate hurdle with 1000s of other platforms and applications that also work with Zapier. - Password lock for team leads – Team and Co team leads can now lock the account of a trainer within their team. This feature provides additional control / security to team leads in relation to hurdle account management. See below:
